A smoothie recipe! What should have been one of the first recipes for me to post here, has taken me a year and a half. Why? Because I never measure anything...so it’s pretty hard to share a recipe for something with no measurements. BUT I made myself measure, and then I played around with it to get the perfect combination of ingredients. You're welcome! ;)

As a Mom of a busy, and sometimes particular toddler, I have a new appre...

This sounds like a dramatic title for a recipe, especially one for egg salad….I get it. But honestly, egg salad has saved me! When Finn was a newborn I had a hard time prioritizing feeding myself. When I had a free moment I didn’t know what to do, and usually eating wasn’t top on my list. This was for two reasons - I was avoiding SO many foods due to digestive issues for him, and I had nothing that was easy to grab and eat wit...

I totally go in and out of the habit of planning our menu for the week. When I do it - I do it! Breakfast lunch and dinner - written out on some pretty paper, and I make it happen. But most of the time, I don’t make menu planning a priority and I’m kinda stuck every afternoon wondering what the heck we’re gonna have for dinner. Because we buy meat in bulk - ie, meat shares (½ cow, ¼ pig, 10 pastured chickens at once) we always...

Making breakfast/snack ahead of time is something I’m always trying to do more of, but am never that successful with. Whenever I take just 10 minutes to prep breakfast the night before, our mornings are always smoother! Yet, it’s not a habit that I’ve gotten to stick yet.

I’m hoping these new chia parfaits I’ve been making will be a game changer. Finn is loving them, and especially on our busy mornings, it’s nice to not ha...

We all know the feeling of being painfully hungry, “hangry” as some like to call it. You get home and you know you need food, and you need it RIGHT NOW. When we’re in this state, it’s rare that we make a healthy choice. If there are chips or cookies in the pantry, these foods are usually what we go for. Because the hunger runs so deep in this state, many of us overeat to the place of not feeling well, and to the point of feeli...

Good Morning Granola has been our go-to family granola recipe for years. Once we realized how much sugar and refined oil is added to commercial granola, we started to make our own. Granola is a breakfast food that is perceived to be so healthy, but turn the package around and you’ll likely find 8-12 grams of sugar (this means 2-3 teaspoons!) in a ⅔ cup serving. The sugar, coupled with the refined and highly processed canola or...

We often make a double batch of oatmeal because, well, it feels like we should. We make at least double of everything else in our kitchen, so why not oatmeal, too! However, day or two old oatmeal is never as good as it is fresh - enter leftover oatmeal pancakes.

When we have these in the fridge, we often use them as a vehicle for yummy toppings - peanut butter, banana, honey, and a little cinnamon is our fave. You could also tr...

As far as I’m concerned, there is nothing better on a cold New England morning than hot soup. I often eat soup for breakfast, but when we don’t have any leftover, I make this simple egg broth soup. You can literally add anything you want to this  - as simple as broth, egg, sea salt and pepper, but on a morning that you have more time and some good left overs, get a little more creative.

Homemade bone broth is a true superfood....
